What can you see nearby?

A quick glimpse into the city of Plovdiv! A few minutes away from you are some of the most famous sights of the City of the Seven Hills. If you are a walking and shopping enthusiast, you cannot miss the Main Shopping Street, which is also the longest pedestrian street in Europe, with a total length of 1.8 km. Along with it are theaters and galleries, shops and cafes and key landmarks such as the Roman Stadium and Djumaya Mosque in Djumaya Square, the Roman Forum. Mladezhki Hill is also nearby – the highest of the hills preserved today, which has turned into a wonderful park for the residents of Plovdiv to relax.
If you deviate from “Djumaya”, you will go up to the Old Town, known as an architectural-historical monument and a cultural heritage of Plovdiv. It extends over an area of 35 square kilometers on the so-called Trihalmie (Nebet Tepe, Jambaz Tepe and Taksim Tepe). Here you can see the traces and spirit of different eras – Antiquity, Middle Ages and Bulgarian Renaissance. You must also visit the Ancient Theater, which is among the most well-preserved Roman theaters in the world.
At the intersection of the main street is the Kapana district – a center of creativity and craftsmanship. With its labyrinth of small, cobbled streets, you can find numerous small shops, workshops and cafes, Kapana will transport you to the spirit of an ancient commercial bazar. In recent years, Kapana has hosted Kapana Fest and numerous other festivals.
The city of Plovdiv was awarded for European Capital of Culture 2019.
